NEWS RELEASE
Ridge Ferry Park is on the verge of getting a new update thanks to SPLOST. A new playground is in the works as part of the 2017 SPLOST package. Parks and Recreation crews began removing the old playground on Monday, Aug. 3.
A design for the new playground has been chosen and once the old one is removed, work will begin on preparing the site for the new playground. Construction of the new playground should be done by late fall, if the weather cooperate.
“We’re excited to begin working on this project and updating this playground at Ridge Ferry Park,” RFPRA Director Todd Wofford says. “We also are excited about the design of the new playground and we think it’s going to be a great addition to the park once it’s complete.”
The public is asked to stay away from the construction area, which will have caution tape and fencing around it, while the old playground is being removed and the new one is constructed.
