STAFF REPORTS

The Floyd County Board of Elections is expected to start the process of reviewing applications for the chief clerk’s job next week.

According to board chair Dr. Melanie Conrad, there are eight or nine applicants who meet the criteria for the job.

The post has been vacant since the departure of Robert Brady in November with Vanessa Waddell serving as the interim clerk.

The board of elections also recently toured the Floyd County Health Department on East 12th Street.

There have been discussions about using space in the building as a potential location for the Board of Elections office.

However, no decisions have been made.
