The latest COVID-19 numbers for Rome, Floyd County Schools

It’s back to school Tuesday morning for students and staff in the Floyd County School System.

A mask mandate is in effect for students at Armuchee High and Pepperell High after more than 2% of students and/or staff at each school test positive for COVID-19.

From August 30 to September 2, there were 16 new cases at Armuchee which is 2.44%.

There were 19 new cases at Pepperell, which is right at 2%.

Meanwhile, Tuesday is a flexible learning day for students in the Rome City Schools.

Flexible Learning Days are days that students will not report to school and will instead complete lessons or tasks at home or off-campus.

Students and staff at all Rome City Schools will be required to wear masks when students return to in-person classes on Wednesday.
