One of three alleged white supremacists charged in a plot to murder a Bartow County couple has pleaded guilty

27-year old Michael John Helterbrand of Dalton was sentenced to 20-years in prison after entering the plea Wednesday to his role in the conspiracy to kill the couple because they believed they were members of an anti-fascist group.

Helterbrand, 23-year old Luke Austin Lane of Floyd County and 21-year old Jacob Oliver Kaderli were arrested in January of 2020.

Authorities say all three men are members of “The Base” a Neo-Nazi terror group.

Other arrests were also made across the country, but the investigation by Floyd County Police and the FBI revealed that the training camp and leadership was based at a home in Silver Creek.
