The Rome City Commission has approved a special use permit for the conversion of a hotel off Avenue A to apartment units.
The plan is for 22 apartment units for the hotel located behind Blue Fin and Fire House Subs.
The property owner and developer Wayne Robinson said it will be a nice upgrade to the structure.
“It will be painted brick and the roof will be bronze,” he said. “There will be some columns added, so it will be a good transformation for that area. We will fence in the parking lots.”
Commissioners also approved rezoning requests for a single-family home on Burnett Circle and duplexes at 301 and 303 Redmond Road.
