Woman charged with 2nd-degree vehicular homicide in death of motorcyclist Saturday

A Rome woman has been charged in connection with a fatal wreck involving a motorcycle that occurred Saturday in West Rome.

According to a Rome Police Department report:

A  2017 Chevy Traverse, driven by 31-year-old Lucia Reyes-Reyes was attempting to turn left from Shorter Avenue onto Alma Road and struck a 2002 Harley Davidson.

21-year-old Jeremy D. Edwards of Rome was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered fatal injuries.

A passenger on the motorcycle, 20-year-old Molly Willis of Acworth, was seriously injured and remains hospitalized.

Reyes-Reyes is charged with misdemeanor 2nd-degree vehicular homicide and failure to yield.

She has been released on bond.
