The Rome City Commission is expected to discuss water litigation during a called meeting Tuesday morning.
Commissioners will go into an executive session during the meeting which begins at 9 a.m. in the Sam King Room at Rome City Hall.
In 2019, the city filed a lawsuit contending that Rome has spent millions of dollars to clean up toxic perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, known as PFAS and PFOAS, released by upstream chemical companies, carpet manufacturers, and Dalton Utilities into its drinking water supply.
A trial date has been set for June 5.
Following the executive session, the commission is set to vote on a water resolution and consider any other business.
