More charges filed against man facing theft, gun crimes
A 35-year-old Rome man who was arrested recently for possessing 11 stolen rifles and shotguns has now been additionally charged with trafficking methamphetamine.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Paden Elliott Brownlow was found with approximately 96.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine on June 20.
That’s the same day a search warrant was executed at his Huffaker Road home in which officers found 30 firearms, 11 of which had been stolen.
Three of the guns did not have a displayed identification number, and one of the firearms was a sawed-off shotgun.
71-year-old charged with burglary
A 71-year-old Rome man has been jailed on charges of 1st-degree burglary and obstruction of law enforcement.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
James Clyde Holmes Jr. entered a residence on Porter Street with another suspect and stole a washer and dryer.
The washer and dryer were recovered near Porter at Hardy Avenue in the back of a residence.
Holmes is also accused of pulling away from officers as they were trying to detain him.
Marietta man charged with felony shoplifting
A Marietta man was booked into the Floyd County jail recently on a felony theft by shoplifting charge.
According to the arrest warrant:
35-year-old Steven Glenn Warner took multiple rolls of wire, valued at $7,174, from the Rome Home Depot on Hicks Drive.
The theft occurred in August of last year, according to the warrant.
