Apartments, vehicles damaged by gunfire

Late last week, Rome Police responded to a call regarding apartments and vehicles bring shot in East Rome.

According to a Rome Police Department report:

Officers were dispatched to the Sandra D. Hudson Villas on Annie Aycock Drive, which is owned by the Rome Housing Authority, at around 7:52 a.m. Friday.

A bullet had gone through the front door and then into an adjacent wall of one apartment.

Bullets also struck the front door of a second apartment and the front post of a third.

Three vehicles were also damaged by gunfire.

Around 40 shell casings were found at the scene.
