The suspect in a deadly shooting has been returned to Rome to face murder charges 

32-year-old Floydell Quinchard Smith is accused of shooting 30-year-old f Te’Vian Markez Williams on June 27 at the Callier Forest Apartments on Dodd Boulevard.

About two weeks later, Smith was arrested in Dayton, Ohio.

He was booked into the Floyd County Jail Friday after being transferred from the Montgomery County, Ohio Jail.

According to the original report from the Rome Police Department:

At around 1:40 a.m. on June 27, officers responded to the scene and located Williams with a gunshot wound to the leg/groin area.

Officers rendered aid to Williams until Emergency Medical Services arrived and took over.

Williams was transported to Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
