-Rome-Floyd County Chamber of Commerce-
The Rome Floyd Chamber has been bustling with activity over the past few months and we are excited to announce the addition of new staff and current staff members that have been named to a state board and a national fellowship.
Megan Patrick has joined the Rome Floyd Chamber staff as the Director of Office Operations.
The Director of Office Operations is the only position that touches every aspect of the Chamber.
From the first point of contact when someone walks in the door to knowing what’s happening with each component of programming and assistance for members.
Patrick moved to Rome, GA to attend Berry College after graduating in 2015 with a degree in Communications. She worked in property management. After several years in the field, she decided to return to Rome and Floyd County where she took a position in banking.
“I am excited to join the chamber staff,” said Patrick. “In my role as Director of Office Operations, I will be assisting our members with their needs as well as assisting the staff with duties around the office. I am thrilled to work closely with chamber members and look forward to meeting everyone.”
Director of Workforce, Alex Williams, has been named one of the 18 chamber professionals from across the country to participate in the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executive Foundation’s fellowship program on economic mobility.
“I am honored to be chosen as one of the individuals who will be participating in a cohort of talented individuals who share the same passion for fostering economic mobility in our communities,” said Alex Williams. “By leveraging the power of collaboration, data-driven insights, and evidence-based strategies, I hope to create a blueprint for sustainable economic growth and upward mobility for individuals in Rome and Floyd County.”
The Fellowship for Economic Mobility is a six-month immersive program for chamber professionals. The program offers the fellows an opportunity to learn and develop tools to improve workforce ecosystems and create economic advancement opportunities for low-income workers in their region. At the end of the program, Williams will be better positioned to support workers and employers in adapting to the new realities of the workforce in Rome and Floyd County by developing a roadmap to implement workforce solutions.
The Rome Floyd Chamber’s President, Pam Powers-Smith, has been named to The Georgia
Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (GACCE) Board. Powers-Smith will represent Region One of Georgia while sitting on this board. This will be Power-Smith’s second year representing Region One on the GACCE Board.
“This is an exciting time at the Chamber,” said President, Pam Powers-Smith. “The addition of
Megan to our team is a tremendous help to our staff and members, and Alex being accepted into the fellowship program will be great for our entire community and region. We are excited for what is to come for our organization, members, and our community.”
