The Floyd County Board of Elections has approved the relocation of three voting locations.
The East Rome Precinct will move from the elections office on East 12th Street to the Hollywood Baptist Church on Lombardy Way.
“That will greatly improve our closing time on election night,” said board chair Jerry Lee.
The Fosters Mill Precinct is moving to Cedar Creek Baptist Church on Fosters Mill Road.
“It’ll be a much easier place to find,” Lee said. “It’s a lot larger, less scary and it has more parking.”
The third and final change is the relocation of the Town Rome Precinct to the Rome-Floyd County Library on Riverside Parkway.
“Our folks have looked that over, and it will reduce a lot of the confusion and congregating with two precincts voting at that one location.”
Tuesday’s caucus will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Floyd County Election Center on East 12th Street, with the board meeting to follow at 6 p.m.
