Murder suspect taken into custody Wednesday

Marquivias Shabron Nicholso

A fourth man indicted recently on murder charges in connection with a shooting in North Rome back on May 21, 2021, is now in custody.

23-year-old Marquivias Shabron Nicholson was also indicted on charges of participation in criminal street gang activity, aggravated assault, and battery by a Floyd County Grand Jury in August.

Nicholson, 20-year-old Justin Antonio Glynn, 20-year-old Malachai Alexander Williams, and 18-year-old Corey Lashun Chatman Jr. are accused in the shooting death of Derricus Smith on Perkins Street.

Glynn, Williams, and Chatman were already in custody.

Nicholson was taken into custody Wednesday in the lobby of the Floyd County Jail.
