Woman charged with aggravated assault, false report of a crime

A 42-year-old Old Summerville Road woman is accused of assaulting a man with a knife.

According to Floyd County Jail records: 

Lakisha Montera Watkins got a knife and went toward the 44-year-old victim, and at one point made a slashing motion.

Watkins backed the man into a corner and would not let him leave. 

She is charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and terroristic threats and acts. 

She is also charged with the false report of a crime after making a rape allegation. 

Man facing multiple charges, three others arrested

A 22-year-old Rome man is facing more than two dozen charges following his arrest on Thursday. 

According to Floyd County Jail records: 

Jaderricus Malik Caldwell fled from a Georgia State Trooper, first in a vehicle and then on foot, hiding in a nearby apartment on East 11th Street. 

Caldwell was found with three stolen firearms and two pounds of marijuana.

According to arrest warrants, a 9 mm was found in Caldwell’s vehicle after he fled from police on July 11. 

Caldwell is a convicted felon. 

He was also found with 85 grams of marijuana and 20 oxycodone pills on July 27. 

Authorities arrested three other people along with Caldwell Thursday.

18-year-old Carlos Jamiane Sams Jr. is charged with theft by receiving stolen firearms, possession of marijuana, and hindering the apprehension of a criminal. 

24-year-old Ja’Teria Kiyonte Colts and 25-year-old Chakielle Trumayian Dennis are both charged with felony marijuana possession.  

Man charged with aggravated battery

A Rome man has been charged with aggravated battery in connection with an incident on November 11 at an apartment on Dodd Boulevard.

According to an arrest warrant: 

62-year-old Danny Dewayne Haywood punched a woman in the face, causing swelling and a loss of vision. 

Woman accused of threatening police officer

A 27-year-old Rome woman was recently arrested at her Hennon Drive home on a felony warrant charging her with terroristic threats and acts.

According to the warrant: 

Gabriela Carpio threatened to kill a  police officer as she was being placed in the back of a patrol vehicle.
