Man arrested on aggravated assault warrant
An arrest has been made in an assault on Avenue D in Lindale that occurred back on May 19.
According to an arrest warrant:
22-year-old Jamal Dakota Jackson hit the victim in the face with the magazine well of a pistol without provocation.
The blow resulted in a visible cut to the victim’s face.
Jackson is charged with aggravated assault.
Man charged with obstruction, drug possession
A man accused of running from a Georgia State Trooper is also facing a drug possession charge.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
The trooper attempted to stop 32-year-old Kaviaus R. Seagraves Jr. on North Broad Street when he took off.
Seagraves was then found with a substance identified as cocaine.
He is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor obstruction of law enforcement.
Alabama man accused of shoplifting, having cocaine at jail
A 20-year-old Centre, Alabama man, initially arrested on a misdemeanor shoplifting charge, was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drugs past the guard line at the jail.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Alex Steve Jolly scanned a tag for a lesser amount than the item was priced at Dollar General in Cave Spring.
Once at the jail, he was found with cocaine, which was inside a dollar bill in his wallet.
