Man charged with statutory rape

A Kennesaw man is facing felony charges of statutory rape and sodomy in Floyd County.

According to the arrest warrants:

20-year-old Brandon Khounsy Sengvixay admitted to having sex with a 13-year-old female.

However, he also claimed that the girl lied about her age.

At the time of his arrest on Martha Berry Highway early Thursday, Sengvixay was found with less than an ounce of marijuana.

Report: Man attempted to rob his girlfriend

A 34-year-old homeless man was jailed Wednesday on charges of robbery, battery, and possession of marijuana.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Anthony Michael Rule put his girlfriend in a headlock while attempting to take her phone at a location on Martha Berry Boulevard.

He was also found with marijuana in his toboggan.

Man facing charges dating back to 2022

A Rome man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Wednesday on a felony warrant charging him with theft by receiving a stolen vehicle.

According to the warrant:

51-year-old Gregory Wayne Ledbetter was found in a stolen vehicle during a traffic stop on Wingfield Street at Shorter Avenue back on April 18, 2022.

He then fled on foot.

The vehicle also had a stolen license plate attached to it.

Ledbetter is additionally charged with misdemeanor counts of obstruction and theft by receiving stolen property.

Report: Woman threw suspected meth out of car window

A Silver Creek woman is facing charges of possession of methamphetamine and tampering with evidence following her arrest on Teat Street at Pine Street in Lindale Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

22-year-old Casey Cheyenne Knowles threw a plastic bag containing suspected meth out of her car window after a police car pulled up behind her.

Knowles is also charged with a headlight violation.
