Rodney Bailey named new assistant Rome police chief

The Rome Police Department welcomed three new officers and held promotions for several others during a ceremony on Tuesday.

The promotions included the naming of Rodney Bailey as the new assistant police chief.

He succeeds Debbie Burnett who retired at the end of the year.

Other officers who were promoted were Sgt. David Metroka, Sgt. Josh Glover, Lt. Ryan Hutchins, and Capt. Pete Sailors.

The new officers are Mike Bigelow, Matthew Clime, and Daisy Chavez.
