The Rome City Commission will conduct a public hearing regarding a rezoning request for property in North Rome when they meet on Monday.

The request to rezone from Community Commercial to Urban mixed-use represents the remaining portion of the townhouse development that was previously approved with conditions for the former funeral home on North Broad Street and property across Davis Street.

The planning commission voted to recommend the denial of the application.

The city commission will also consider applications to rezone 1908 Maple Road from Community Commercial to Neighborhood Office Commercial, and 204 West 10th Street from Community Commercial to High Density Traditional. Both come with a recommendation to approve.

Re-adoption of the Unified Land Development Code and Zoning Maps as well as a resolution to adopt the Rome-Floyd Cave Spring 2040 Joint Comprehensive Plan are also on the agenda for Monday’s meeting which begins at 6:30 p.m. at Rome City Hall.
