Man accused of possessing stolen firearms, filing false report of a crime
A Rome man is accused of possessing two stolen firearms as police were investigating a shooting incident on Pinson Road back on October 30.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
23-year-old Makaylan Deshaund Sullivan was not supposed to have any firearms due to his felony convictions.
Sullivan also had over an ounce of marijuana and then signed legal government documents, knowing the information was false.
He is charged with theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, false report of a crime, false statements and writings, felony possession of marijuana, and a probation violation.
Lindale man charged with aggravated assault, felony obstruction
A Lindale man was jailed early Sunday on single counts of aggravated assault and terroristic threats and acts, as well as two counts of 3rd-degree cruelty to children and four counts of felony obstruction of officers.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
27-year-old Pete Buck Allen put his hands around a woman’s throat and threatened to kill her.
The domestic altercation was witnessed by two children.
Allen also fought with officers as they attempted to arrest him at his Avenue D home.
Report: Man put his hands around a woman’s throat, pushed her into a wall
A Rome man was arrested at his Stonebrook Drive home Sunday on a felony aggravated assault charge.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
64-year-old Vincent Pheriel Dostie Jr. put his hands around a woman’s throat and pushed her up against a wall.
Shoplifting suspect facing drug charges
A Kingston woman arrested at the East Rome Walmart for allegedly shoplifting $88 in grocery items is also facing drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
27-year-old Heidi Kathryn Mari McDevitt was found with mushrooms and Xanax in her purse.
Heroin was found in her bra once at the jail.
McDevitt is charged with possession of Schedule I, Schedule II, and Schedule IV controlled substances, possession of drugs not in the original container, crossing the guard line at the jail with drugs, and misdemeanor theft by shoplifting.
Calhoun man arrested during traffic stop
A traffic stop on East 19th Street at Flannery Street in Rome ended with the arrest of a Calhoun man on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
32-year-old Steven Joshua Redwine was initially stopped for not wearing a seatbelt.
It was then determined he was driving with a suspended license.
During a search, police found suspected methamphetamine and a drug-related object.\\
Report: woman caught with heroin after shoplifting arrest
A 59-year-old Rome woman accused of stealing $319 in merchandise from Belk in Mt. Berry Mall is also facing a felony drug charge.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
In addition to the misdemeanor shoplifting charge, Selena Gail Mixon was charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance after she was found with suspected heroin.
