Elderly woman arrested on a felony drug charge
A 78-year-old North Rome woman has been charged with conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Controlled Substances Act.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Annie Sue Chambers conspired with 57-year-old Alvin Sylvester Chambers and others to transport, hide, and distribute over eight pounds of methamphetamine on April 18.
Alvin Chambers is also accused of conspiring with a different woman to distribute over seven ounces of meth on April 12.
He also conspired with another man to distribute meth on April 4, according to jail records.
Man charged with fleeing, theft by taking
A Rome man is facing multiple charges after allegedly fleeing from police and hiding in a garbage dumpster.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Police attempted to stop a Nissan Maxima with no license plate on Callier Springs Road.
The driver, 33-year-old Christopher Lloyd Rhoten, then failed to stop at the Highway 411 intersection and weaved through traffic before turning onto Hobson Way.
Rhoten exited the vehicle, without putting it into park.
The open driver’s side door on the still-moving Nissan then struck a police car.
Rhoten fled on foot but was later apprehended from a dumpster, and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, obstruction, and a number of traffic violations.
He is also charged in the theft of a motorcycle from a residence on Old Dalton Road while the owner was incarcerated back on January 20.
Report: Motorcyclist fled from police
A 61-year-old Armuchee man is accused of running from police.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Police attempted to stop a motorcycle for speeding.
The driver, James William Bishop, failed to stop, eventually driving to his home on Haywood Valley Road where he fled on foot.
Once at the jail, Bishop was found with suspected methamphetamine.
He is charged with possession of meth, possession of drugs across the guard line, fleeing or attempting to elude, DUI, speeding and driving out of license class.
Man charged with robbery
A 34-year-old Lindale man was arrested Wednesday at his Hughes Dairy Road residence on a felony robbery charge.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Karo Thomas Zachery Wynn suddenly and aggressively snatched a cell phone from a family member.
He also threw a flashlight, busting out the windows of a vehicle, resulting in an additional charge of criminal trespass with damage to property.
Man accused of using passwords, keys to enter ATM
A man is facing a felony charge of computer theft after he allegedly used keys and passwords without authorization to enter a Wells Fargo ATM on Shorter Avenue back on November 19.
According to an arrest warrant:
42-year-old Wilson Alexander Rolle Jr. of McDonough took $260 from the ATM.
He is additionally charged with a misdemeanor count of theft by taking.
