Man accused of destroying vending machine, damaging signage

A Taylorsville man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Monday on a felony count of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property.

According to jail records:

62-year-old Christopher Maurice Holcombe caused around $1,200 in damage at a Laundromat on North Broad Street.

He destroyed a vending machine and damaged signage on the property.

Man charged with false imprisonment, simple assault

A Silver Creek man is facing charges following an incident on Maple Road Monday evening.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

46-year-old Robert Carl Smith forced a woman back into the residence from the driveway and refused to allow her to leave while pointing a finger in her face and yelling.

Smith is charged with a felony count of false imprisonment and a misdemeanor count of simple assault.

Woman charged with felony shoplifting

A woman with five previous shoplifting convictions going back to 1995 has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with theft by shoplifting.

According to the warrant:

53-year-old Sharon Diane Redden of Silver Creek took $134 in merchandise from Ulta Beauty on Turner McCall Boulevard by concealing the items in her clothing and leaving the store.

The incident occurred back on January 19.

Redden is also being held for a probation violation.
