Man accused of assaulting a minor
A Cedartown man was arrested at his Doyle Road residence after allegedly choking a juvenile to the point where the teen could not breathe.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
46-year-old Grady Allen Turpin also punched the victim, causing a laceration below the eye.
Turpin is charged with aggravated assault, 1st-degree cruelty to children, and battery.
Report: Homeless woman found with meth at Third Avenue Parking Deck
A homeless woman was recently arrested at the Third Avenue Parking deck next to the Town Green on charges of possession of methamphetamine and criminal trespass.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
31-year-old Anna Maria Key had been banned from the property in January.
She also had a substance believed to be methamphetamine in her bag.
