Report: Woman walking in roadway charged with meth possession

A homeless woman was arrested late last week after police said she was walking with her arms outstretched against the flow of traffic on Shorter Avenue at Redmond Circle.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

This was the second time that 41-year-old Amy Christina Brantley Hendrix had done this.

She was also found with suspected methamphetamine and a glass smoking device.

Hendrix is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects, pedestrian walking in the roadway, and pedestrian under the influence.

The report states that Hendrix also smashed her phone into pieces by throwing it down onto the roadway when she was told she was under arrest, resulting in an additional charge of littering.

Man arrested on drug charges

A Rome man is facing drug charges following his arrest late last week on Glover Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

He is charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of s Schedule V controlled substance, and possession of dangerous drugs.

24-year-old Jakhymbai Patrick Lamar Johnson was found with over an ounce of marijuana, a bottle of liquid codeine, and several bottles of Promethazine during the execution of a search warrant.

Johnson is also being held on three probation violation warrants.

Warrant: Man had more than two pounds of marijuana

A 24-year-old homeless man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with possession of marijuana.

According to the warrant:

Jalyn Mykel Smith possessed over two pounds of marijuana at a location on Gordon Avenue back on January 9.

Smith is also charged with a couple of probation violations.

Man arrested following school, daycare lockdowns

A 30-year-old Rome man was arrested late last week after causing two schools and a daycare center to go into lockdown.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Bill Franklin Douglas III threatened to harm himself with a deadly weapon in the woods behind Dwyatt Street in the Armuchee area, causing the lockdowns and a response from multiple public safety agencies.

Douglas is charged with a felony count of transmitting a false public alarm.

He is also charged with simple assault in connection with an incident on March 23 in which he allegedly drew his fist back in a violent manner during an argument with a woman at Burr Drive and Dugger Drive.

Woman accused of using lost credit cards to make purchases

A 39-year-old Rosemont Park woman is accused of keeping a wallet she found and using the financial transaction cards that were in it.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Brittany Nicole Waits used the two cards to obtain cash, goods, and food at multiple locations.

She is charged with theft of lost or mislaid property, financial transaction card theft, and financial transaction card fraud.

Man arrested for criminal trespass at hospital

A homeless man is accused of making handprints on the walls of a bathroom at Atrium Health Floyd with his own blood.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

39-year-old Billy Ray Justice is charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal trespass with damage to property.
