Rome Police responded to an armed robbery at the Kwik Way convenience store on Dean Avenue on Sunday.

According to a Rome Police Department report:

The clerk told officers that a tall, skinny man with a hood over his head and wearing a mask entered the store during the early morning hours.

The man climbed over the counter, pulled out a large knife and demanded the clerk open the cash register.

The suspect then demanded all the money from the gambling machines but was told they were broken.

He then ordered the clerk into the restroom and fled on foot.

A credit card, possibly with the suspect’s name on it, was left on the counter.
