A man has been arrested after a shooting in East Rome near the intersection of Evergreen Street at Cedar Avenue.
According to Rome Police Department Assistant Chief Rodney Bailey:
Police responded to the call at 9:49 a.m. Tuesday and found 39-year-old Christopher Nicholas Hunter still at the location. Witnesses stated there had been an argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend at that location. He fired at least one shot at her, but did not strike her.
According to Floyd County Jail records, Hunter is charged with felony aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He remained in jail without bond as of Tuesday afternoon.
