Georgia State Patrol has reported that a fatal accident occurred this morning in Bartow County.

According to GSP reports, at 6:09 AM, troopers responded to a vehicle accident on Georgia 61 at Funkhouser Road.

An investigation revealed that a yellow motorcycle was traveling south on Georgia 61 in the left lane.

A blue commercial vehicle was traveling north on Georgia 61 in the left turning lane, attempting to turn left onto Funkhouser Road.

The motorcyclist struck the rear of the trailer that was being pulled by the CMV and succumbed to injuries at the scene.

A specialized collision reconstruction team responded to assist with the ongoing investigation.

The name of the deceased has not been disclosed at the time of this report.
