Man charged in theft of electric bicycle

A 63-year-old homeless man is accused of stealing an electric bicycle back on May 15.

According to the arrest warrant:

John L Durant Watkins took the bike, valued at $1,518 from in front of a convenience store on Dean Avenue.

He is charged with felony theft by taking.

Man charged with DUI, drug possession following wreck

A Shannon man is facing charges after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

32-year-old Dalton Lee Godfrey wrecked his vehicle on Highway 53 at Old Shannon Road.

He left the scene and was later found with suspected methamphetamine and clonazepam.

Godfrey is charged with possession of meth, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, DUI, failure to maintain a lane, and a probation violation.

Man arrested on drug charges during safety check

A 33-year-old Garden Lakes man was arrested on drug charges during a safety check on Huffaker Road Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Stephen Michael Davis had less than an ounce of marijuana in his wallet and a hydrocodone pill was found in the vehicle.

Davis is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drugs not in the original container, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
