Man accused of removing electronic monitoring device

A 46-year-old West Rome man is accused of removing an electronic monitoring device.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Carmine Narada Berardi was out on bond and was ordered to wear the device at pretrial.

He is charged with a felony count of removing, destroying or circumventing the operation of an EMD.

Report: Man caught with pills, loaded gun

A man from Fort Valley, Georgia was booked into the Floyd County Jail Tuesday on charges of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

According to jail records:

38-year-old Marquincey Dexter Solomon was a passenger in a Jeep Patriot stopped by police at Avenue B and East Eighth Street after a complaint regarding a suspicious vehicle.

A positive K9 indication resulted in a search.

A bag containing orange pills and a loaded handgun was recovered from the seat where Solomon had been sitting.
