Woman charged with child, animal cruelty
A 32-year-old Rome woman was jailed last week at her Skyline Drive home on charges of 2nd and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Rebeccah Jane Rivera Duke allowed three children to live in unsafe and unsanitary conditions.
She also had four kittens and multiple adult cats living in unsanitary conditions without proper ventilation.
Some of the kittens suffered from eye issues.
Duke is additionally charged with battery, cruelty to animals and aggravated cruelty to animals
Man accused of running from police, meth possession
A Cedartown man was arrested last week on East 19th at Flannery in East Rome for giving law enforcement a false name and date of birth, but the trouble didn’t end there.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Terry Tyrone Pollard Sr. began to run from the police with his hand in his pocket and was later found with methamphetamine in three different bags and a digital scale.
He is additionally charged with possession of meth, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of drugs-related objects and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
