Bomb squad responds to West Rome business Monday, woman arrested

A 31-year-old West Rome woman was arrested Monday after allegedly placing a device appearing to be a bomb or explosive on a vehicle parked at CSL Plasma on North Division Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records and a Rome Police Department report:

Jennifer Lynn Williams put a battery with a blue wire on the rims of the vehicle for the purpose of evacuating the building.

The incident was caught on video surveillance.

The Rome-Floyd County Bomb Squad was called to the scene and determined there were no explosives attached to the device.

Williams is charged with terroristic threats and acts, criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct.
