The public can learn more about emergency preparedness and the different types of storms we can see in our area during a special event on Saturday at the Floyd County Emergency Management Agency Headquarters.
The cookout and weather science discussion will feature WSB Meteorologist Christina Edwards.
“This is all part of our SAFE program that we’re doing,” said Chris Fincher with Floyd County Emergency Management. “Saturday at noon at our office, the fire department is going to be here, along with amateur radio operators. 911 is also going to be set up, as well as Advent doing CPR. We’re excited about this, and we’re hoping for a crowd to be here. JSupply is going to be cooking out and grilling.”
The emergency operations center is located at 407 East 12th Street.
Again, the Weather Safe event is on Saturday starting at noon.
