Man accused of having firearm while on probation

A 33-year-old Rome man was arrested Wednesday on a felony charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to the arrest warrant:

Tyler Scott Griffith was found in possession of a firearm and ammunition during an aggravated assault investigation on Old Dalton Road back on May 26.

Griffith is currently on probation due to a felony conviction.

Former prison inmate charged with having contraband

A former inmate at the Floyd County Prison has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with possession of items prohibited for inmates.

According to the warrant:

42-year-old Travis Tramane Felton of Macon was found in possession of a cell phone back on March 29, 2022.

Felton was transferred from the Colquitt County Jail to Floyd County on Wednesday to face the local charge.

Man arrested on drug charges

Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers executed a search warrant at a home on Linden Street Wednesday and arrested a 56-year-old Rome man on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Billy Joe Maynor was found with methamphetamine, a glass smoking device, and a digital scale.

He is charged with possession of meth and possession of drug-related objects.
