Pedestrian struck and killed by vehicle in Chattooga County

The Georgia State Patrol continues its investigation into a fatal pedestrian incident that happened on Wednesday afternoon in Trion. 

The Georgia State Patrol Public Information Office released the following statement:

At 4:43 pm, Troopers responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on GA 1 at Selman Drive in Chattooga County.

Upon arrival, the investigation determined that a 2011 Ford Edge was traveling south on GA 1 (Highway 27) and struck a male pedestrian who was improperly crossing GA 1 from a convenience store.

The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was transported to the Atrium Chattooga ED where he was pronounced dead by the Chattooga County Coroner. 

The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team  (SCRT) is actively investigating this case.
