The Floyd County Board of Education is expected to vote on the final approval of the proposed millage rate for 2024 during a called meeting Friday morning.
The proposed tax rate is 17.141, a decrease from 17.70 mills in 2023.
The board is also expected to vote on personnel changes during Friday’s called meeting, which begins at 7:30 a.m. at the Floyd County Board of Education central office.
The Floyd County Board of Commissioners will hold a Special Called Meeting on Tuesday, July 30, at 8:00 a.m. in the Community Room, Suite 206 of the Floyd County Administration Building, 12 East 4th Avenue, Rome.
The purpose of that meeting is to adopt the full 2024 millage rate resolution.
This will include the Floyd County Board of Education’s rate.
This week, the county commission voted to set the 2024 rate for maintenance and operations at 9.164 mills, up from 8.6 in 2023.
In addition to the M&O rate of 9.164, the commission set the fire protection rate at 1.65 and solid waste at 0.656.
