Report: Man locked woman inside taxi
A Rome man is facing a felony count of false imprisonment following his arrest Saturday on Rockmart Highway in Silver Creek.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
47-year-old Ernesto Marrouquin Rodrigues held a woman against her will in the back of his taxi by locking down the doors and refusing to let her out of the vehicle.
The woman was crying and begging to get out and had to be freed by law enforcement.
Man charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle
A Summerville man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Sunday on a felony warrant charging him with theft by taking.
According to the warrant:
42-year-old Timothy Clayton Swann took a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee, valued at over $10,000, from a location on Martha Berry Highway back in December.
Swann is also facing charges of hit and run, driving with a suspended or revoked license, failure to yield, and a couple of felony probation violations.
Woman accused of damaging windshield by punching it
A 38-year-old Rome woman was jailed over the weekend on charges of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, battery, and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Lisa Marie Castillo hit and scratched the victim, and then damaged the windshield of the victim’s vehicle by punching it.
After her arrest, marijuana was found in Castillo’s pants pocket.
The incident occurred at Castillo’s Leafmore Road apartment.
Man facing drug charges following traffic stop in West Rome
A Cedartown man was arrested over the weekend on Shorter Avenue in Rome on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
31-year-old Skyler Levi Wilson was observed failing to maintain his lane on North Elm Street and was driving under the influence of drugs.
He was also found with three suspected clonazepam pills, an amount of suspected methamphetamine and marijuana, several baggies, and a digital scale.
Wilson is charged with possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, failure to maintain a lane, and DUI.
Report: Man ran from police, found with drugs
A Rome man who allegedly ran from police on Martha Berry Highway Sunday is facing drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
When 40-year-old Richard Dallas Smith was apprehended he was found with methamphetamine and marijuana.
Smith is charged with possession of meth, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and misdemeanor obstruction of law enforcement.
Man charged with shoplifting, meth possession
A Rome man is facing a methamphetamine possession charge following his arrest for shoplifting at the West Rome Walmart.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
35-year-old Jonathan Cody Mobbs attempted to steal early $115 in merchandise from the store and was then found with suspected meth concealed inside a black container with a keychain attached to it.
Man charged with possession of meth, cocaine
A 58-year-old homeless man is facing drug charges after police say a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine fell to the ground as he was being placed under arrest at a location on Cave Spring Road.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
George Kelvin Waddell also had a small metal tin in his back pocket that contained another small baggie of suspected meth, and three small rocks of suspected crack cocaine.
Police also located a glass pipe in Waddell’s front pocket and another glass pipe tied to his bicycle.
