Georgia’s gas price average declined at the pumps compared to a week ago.

Georgians are paying an average price of $3.28 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline, which is 5 cents less than a week ago,4 cents less than a month ago, and 38 cents less than this time last year.

It costs drivers an average price of $49.20 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline. Georgians are paying almost $6.00 less to fill up at the pump compared to a year ago.

“Georgia drivers continue to see relief at the pumps despite a possible storm approaching,” said Montrae Waiters, AAA-The Auto Club Group spokeswoman. “Gas prices may ebb and flow until we get beyond hurricane season and its threats to Gulf Coast oil and gas production and refining.”

Local averages on Monday were $3.15 in Floyd County, $3.16 in Bartow County, $3.18 in Gordon and Chattooga Counties, and $3.27 in Polk County.
