Woman accused of maintaining a disorderly house

A 32-year-old Morrow woman has been arrested on charges of 2nd-degree cruelty to children, and maintaining a disorderly house.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Kiara Andrea Heyward put two children at risk by allowing them to live in deplorable conditions on East Big Indian Trail.

Warrant: Man strangled woman

A Rome man was arrested at his Avenue B home Wednesday on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated assault.

According to the warrant:

31-year-old Darius Mackenzie McCoy strangled a woman to the point where she lost consciousness.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, according to the warrant.

Woman arrested on drug charges

A Douglasville woman was arrested Wednesday on Lavender Drive on charges of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

34-year old Meaghan Mary Malacarne was found with synthetic marijuana and a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana.
