Warrant: Man hit another with a wooden plank in an attempt to steal hand trucks
A homeless man has been arrested on a felony aggravated assault charge.
According to an arrest warrant:
59-year-old Lamar Keith Dublin attempted to rob a man of his hand trucks by striking the victim with a wooden plank.
The victim sustained a laceration above his eye requiring stitches.
The incident occurred on August 4 at East 14th at Crane Street.
Search warrant leads to drug arrests on Alabama Highway
The execution of a search warrant on Alabama Highway ended with the arrest of two men on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
59-year-old Bobby Joe Bramblett of Rome and 33-year-old Kiefer Ryan Beck of Aragon were found with a syringe containing suspected heroin.
Both are charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of drug-related objects.
Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers also arrested 52-year-old Gary Wayne Acrey of Calhoun at the same location.
According to the report, Acrey had a bottle containing suspected methamphetamine, a glass smoking device, and a baggie of gabapentin pills.
He is charged with possession of meth, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drugs not in the original container, possession of drug-related objects, driving without insurance and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Man charged with felony marijuana possession
A North Rome man is accused of having more than two ounces of marijuana at a location on Perkins Street back on March 29.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
A police officer saw 24-year-old Cody Deangelo Thompson leave the house with a diaper bag containing the marijuana, along with packaging materials and a digital scale.
Thompson is charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects, and a probation violation.
Man arrested following alleged drug deal
An East Rome man was arrested after law enforcement reportedly witnessed a hand-to-hand drug deal on East 16th Street.
According to Floyd County jail records:
32-year-old Brandon Montae Henderson ran from officers after he was told to stop.
He was found with 24 grams of marijuana, an oxycodone pill, digital scales, and $600 in cash.
Henderson is charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, obstruction, and a probation violation.
Man accused of causing damage at convenience store
A Rome man is accused of causing over $700 in damage at the Calhoun Quick Stop on Calhoun Avenue.
According to Floyd County jail records:
24-year-old Marquivias Shabron Nicholson is charged with 2nd-degree criminal damage to property in connection with the incident on August 22.
