Calhoun is one of five communities that have been awarded a grant by the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority to address PFAS and additional emerging contaminants in drinking water.

The $7,000,000 grant will fund conducting pilot testing and upgrading drinking water plants to treat PFAS.

Meanwhile, Summerville is getting $3.5 million to fund a pilot study and to upgrade the city’s drinking water plant.

The $30 million in grants were made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Other recipients include Chatsworth, Clayton County, and Tennille, Georgia.
