A homeless man is facing charges after he allegedly resisted law enforcement on Joe Louis Boulevard on Monday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
33-year-old Kevin Von Clifton refused to follow orders and place his hands behind his back.
Once handcuffed, Clifton twisted his body and attempted to kick.
During the struggle, the officer’s glasses and a tourniquet holder were broken.
Clifton is charged with felony and misdemeanor obstruction, as well as interference with government property,
Woman charged with burglary
A Shannon woman was arrested Monday on charges of 2nd-degree burglary and theft by taking.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
58-year-old Vickie Regina Lingerfelt entered a structure on East Hermitage Road and stole miscellaneous items.
She then resisted arrest and attempted to bite the officers, resulting in additional charges of obstruction.
Stolen U-Haul lands Rome man behind bars
A 57-year-old Rome man was arrested over the weekend after he was reportedly found in possession of a stolen U-Haul vehicle.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Stephon Dakota Chambers rented the vehicle, valued at $40,000, and never returned it.
He is charged with theft by taking and theft by receiving property following his arrest on Shorter Avenue.
Chambers is also charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Homeless man accused of making threat
A confrontation about a cigarette lighter resulted in the arrest of a 54-year-old homeless man over the weekend.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Shane Allen Neighbors threatened to stab another man in the face while in possession of a “shiv.”
Neighbors is charged with terroristic threats and acts, and disorderly conduct.
Woman arrested for possession of meth
A 37-year-old Morrison Campground woman was arrested early Tuesday for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug-related objects.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Courtney Anne West was found with suspected meth and a pipe in her makeup bag following a K9 indication.
She was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for suspended registration on Shorter Avenue.
Man charged with cocaine possession
A Rome man was arrested over the weekend on charges of possession of cocaine and possession of drug-related objects.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
46-year-old Michael Dewayne Green was found with cocaine and a glass smoking device at a location on Martha Berry Boulevard at West 13th Street.
Man arrested during GSP road check over the weekend
A Rome man was arrested during a Georgia State Patrol road check on Saturday at North Second Avenue and West Third Street.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
39-year-old Jesse Lee Barton had a small plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.
Barton is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, DUI, and driving without his license.
