U.S. Senators Reverend Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff have secured close to $64 million in federal funds for airports across Georgia, including the Polk County Airport.

The airport in Cedartown is getting $3,950,000 for runway upgrades.

Other grant recipients include the Columbus Airport, DeKalb-Peachtree Airport, Dalton Municipal Airport, the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport, the Augusta Regional Airport, and the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport.

The Georgia Department of Transportation is receiving $1 million in planning funds.

The grants were awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program and made possible in part by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

“Georgia is one of the most important aviation states in the nation, and as a member of the committee responsible for aviation policy, I will continue working to strengthen Georgia’s transportation infrastructure,” said Senator Reverend Warnock. “This latest investment will continue to take Georgia’s aviation economy to new heights.”
