Interviews with candidates for DDA director to begin this week

The City of Rome continues its search for a new Downtown Development Authority Director following the recent departure of Aundi Lesley.

Lesley left Rome for a new job supporting economic development in Canton. She had been the DDA Director since 2020.

According to Kelly Ledford with the City of Rome, they have received numerous applications, and interviews with candidates are expected to begin this week.

According to the job summary, the director is responsible for planning, marketing, and implementing downtown development within the central business district.  

The director is a city employee and works with the Downtown Development Authority to implement program objectives, such as community education, formulation of policies, and the development of marketing strategies for those areas.
