Around 2:30 pm this afternoon, Rome Police were called to the parking lot of the Citgo convenience store located at the intersection of John Davenport Drive and Martha Berry Boulevard to reports of a child being backed over by a vehicle.

According to the preliminary investigation, an unattended male child, age 15 months, had walked from the nearby motel and was toddling through the convenience store parking lot.  As a vehicle attempted to leave the store, the driver was unable to see the small child and back into the toddler.
