Additional details have been released regarding a shooting incident in the parking lot of the West Rome Walmart on Friday evening.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
31-year-old David Marvin Davis of Rome fired eight shots at two people before driving in a reckless manner, striking a vehicle, a shopping cart stall, and the victim who was trying to run away.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to Rome Police.
Davis is charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct, hit and run, reckless driving, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and discharge of a firearm on the property of another.

Just before 10:00 pm on Friday, November 15, 2024, emergency responders were called to the West Rome Walmart due to reports of a shooting incident.
According to the preliminary investigation, a domestic dispute was taking place outside of the Walmart store which led to one female being struck by a bullet. The alleged shooter attempted to flee from the scene, nearly striking a witness to the incident, but was quickly apprehended by officers. The victim has been transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
This incident is believed to have been isolated between familiar parties. Anyone with information who has not already been contacted by Rome Police Department investigators is encouraged to call 9-1-1.
