Warrant: Man found with meth while an inmate back in 2022

A Lawrenceville man is accused of having methamphetamine while an inmate at the Floyd County Prison back in April of 2022.

According to an arrest warrant:

39-year-old Davian Antwan Brantley was found with just over a gram and a half of meth during a search.

Security camera video showed Brantley leaving his dorm and attempting to slide the contraband under the door of an adjacent dorm.

Brantley is charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, and possession of items prohibited for inmates.

Former inmate charged with marijuana possession, obstruction in 2022 incident at PAWS

A former Floyd County Prison inmate has been charged in connection with an incident that occurred in February of 2022 at Floyd County Public Animal Welfare Services.

According to an arrest warrant:

Correctional officers smelled marijuana coming from a locked room that 35-year-old Eddie Lee Howard III was in.

Howard then ran from officers and tossed a sock containing more than 24 grams of marijuana over the fence.

He is charged with possession of items prohibited for inmates, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and obstruction.

Prison inmate accused of sprinkler at prison

A former inmate has been returned to Floyd County to face a felony charge of interference with government property.

According to the arrest warrant:

30-year-old Troy Daniel Bishop of Fayetteville damaged the fire suppression system at the Floyd County Prison by breaking the sprinkler head off the ceiling in a cell.

The incident occurred in April of 2023, according to the warrant.

Man charged with theft by receiving and shoplifting

Additional charges have been filed against a homeless man arrested on Redmond Circle earlier this week.

According to the arrest warrants:

30-year-old Gary Dalton Morgan admitted to being in possession of a stolen 2019 Dodge Ram valued at $20,000.

He is also accused of stealing $134.95 in clothing from Citi Trends on Shorter Avenue.

Morgan is charged with theft by receiving stolen property and theft by shoplifting.

He was initially arrested Tuesday after he was found with a shotgun and admitted to swallowing methamphetamine.

Man charged with violating sex offender law

A Calhoun man has been arrested and charged with violating Georgia’s Sex Offender Registry Law.

According to the arrest warrant:

45-year-old Gary Cleveland Fuller Jr. failed to notify the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office 72 hours before he moved from his listed residence on Dean Avenue to a motel on Highway 41 in Calhoun.

Fuller is also being held without bond for a probation violation.

Teen facing drug charges

A Rome teen was arrested Wednesday on a felony possession of methamphetamine charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

18-year-old Stephen Tyler Aycock was found with meth at his Cherry Street home.

Bond for Aycock has been set at $5,700.
