Woman accused of burglarizing home and pawning stolen items

A Rome woman is accused of burglarizing a home on East Third Avenue back on November 28.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

34-year-old Dawn Elaine Helms stole numerous items valued at more than $2,600 and damaged a doorbell.

She then sold some items, including a bass guitar, a television, and a café table at a local pawn shop.

Helms is charged with 1st-degree burglary, theft by taking, theft by deception, criminal trespass, criminal trespass with property damage, and a probation violation.

Report: Woman busted out windshield of vehicle, pepper-sprayed driver

A 21-year-old Rome woman has been arrested on charges of 2nd and 3rd-degree cruelty to children, simple assault, battery, and 2nd-degree criminal damage to property.

According to Floyd County Jail records and an arrest warrant:

Kyla Unique Price busted out the front, back, and left side windows of a man’s vehicle with a piece of metal.

She then pepper sprayed the victim while a child was present.

The incidents occurred on November 29 at a location on Lady Marion Drive.

Rockmart man arrested for driving stolen vehicle

A Rockmart man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Tuesday on charges of theft by receiving stolen property and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

42-year-old Michael Warren Terry was driving a 2014 Ford F-150, valued at $8,000, which he should have known had been stolen.

Police stopped Terry on Riverbend Drive after getting an alert regarding the stolen pickup.
