Members of the Rome Water and Sewer Committee will review a rate study when they meet next week.
When rates were rolled back following a settlement in Rome’s suit against chemical companies and others regarding PFAS contamination, it was generally understood that there could be a future increase.
The City of Rome is required to do a rate study every two years but the last study was postponed from 2023 to 2024 to give customers a little more time to enjoy those savings following the rollback.
Any new rates would have to be approved by the full Rome City Commission and would go into effect in 2025.
The water and sewer committee meeting was originally scheduled for Thursday morning but has been rescheduled for Tuesday, December 10 at 9 a.m. in the Sam King Room at Rome City Hall.
