Report: Man barricaded himself in West Rome residence

A West Rome man was arrested Saturday after allegedly barricading himself in his Leon Street residence.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

29-year-old Gustavo Angel Vasquez hit a woman in the left eye with his elbow and then refused law enforcement commands to come out of the residence.

The incident was witnessed by two children.

Vasquez also damaged the victim’s cell phone, valued at $1,200.

He is charged with 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, battery, 3rd-degree cruelty to children, and obstruction of officers.

Woman accused of fleeing from police

A West Rome woman was arrested over the weekend at her Betty Kay Avenue residence on a felony warrant charging her with fleeing or attempting to elude.

According to the warrant:

55-year-old Stephanie Lynn Ray failed to stop for police in the area of Edwards Street and continued fleeing in a reckless manner at more than 20 miles per hour over the speed limit while running stop signs and driving into oncoming traffic.

Ray is additionally charged with reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane, too fast for conditions, running a stop sign, improper taillight, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Alabama man charged with theft by receiving stolen property

A Valley, Alabama man was arrested during a traffic stop on Highway 53 and the loop over the weekend.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

38-year-old Bradley Michael Williams was operating a stolen vehicle valued at $20,000.

The report states that Williams should have reasonably known the vehicle, belonging to U-Haul on Shorter Avenue, was stolen.

He is charged with theft by receiving stolen property and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Woman charged with financial transaction card fraud

A 42-year-old Rome woman was arrested over the weekend on a felony warrant charging her with financial transaction card fraud and possession of dangerous drugs.

According to the warrant:

Gail Patricia Bennett used someone else’s card to purchase numerous items at Publix on Turner McCall Boulevard and Circle K on Shorter Avenue.

The charges totaled $119.23.

Bennett is also accused of having six gabapentin pills resulting in an additional charge of possession of dangerous drugs.

Report: Man found with 13 grams of meth

A Cedartown man is facing drug charges following his arrest on North Broad Street on Saturday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

42-year-old Jason Lance Glenn was found with multiple small bags of methamphetamine following a K9 sniff of the vehicle.

The meth weighed an estimated 13 grams.

Glenn is charged with possession of meth and possession with the intent to distribute.

Cedartown man charged with drug possession

A Cedartown man was booked into the Floyd County Jail late last week following his arrest on Calhoun Road at Baker Road.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

42-year-old Joshua Nicholas Clonts was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine, Xanax, oxycodone, and marijuana along with $350 in cash.

Clonts is charged with possession of meth, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

Report: Narcotics found during search warrant

A South Rome man has been arrested on a felony drug charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

During the execution of a search warrant on January 22, narcotics were found in 45-year-old Lajohnatha Nicaraug Kinnewbrew’s room on Harper Avenue.

Kinnebrew is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
