Closings and delays for Wednesday

From Rome City Schools – After discussions with local officials and in alignment with our Keeping Schools Safe Initiative, all Rome City Schools will have an Independent Learning Day on Wednesday, Feb. 19, due to the threat of inclement weather. We want everyone to remain weather-aware and stay safe. RCS will continue to monitor road conditions and temperatures for Thursday and Friday.

From Calhoun City Schools – Due to the latest Winter Weather Advisory from Gordon County EMA, Calhoun City Schools will be CLOSED on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Snow is expected early in the morning, with additional flurries possible in the afternoon and the potential for black ice on Thursday morning. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Based on this forecast, we believe it is best to keep everyone off the roads. All Calhoun City Schools will be closed on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. We will reassess weather conditions at noon on Wednesday and provide an update on afternoon/evening activities.

Gordon County Schools are on winter break this week and are already closed.

From Chattooga County Schools – Due to the forecast for potential snow & a wintry mix for our area on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, Chattooga County Schools will have a Learn From Home Day. ALL employees are to report on a 3-hour delay if travel is safe from their home.

From Georgia Northwestern Technical College – Due to a Winter Weather Advisory in our service area and possible impacts to travel, all campuses of GNTC will be closed on Wednesday, February 19.

NOTE: Floyd, Gordon, Cartersville, and Bartow County Schools were already out for winter break.
