The Winter Weather Advisory has been expanded since the previous update last night to include Bartow, Cherokee, Haralson, Paulding, and Polk Counties out of an abundance of caution.
The watch area already included Floyd, Gordon, and Chattooga Counties.
It is in effect until 1 a.m. Thursday.
The air across this area is dry enough to support decreasing temperatures (via evaporation) as rain continues, which could in turn support light snow.
